Clean Your Jewelry After Each Wear and Keep It Dry
To maintain the shine and longevity of your jewelry, clean it after each use and keep it dry. This might seem like an extra step, but it helps keep your pieces looking beautiful for longer. Body oils, perfumes, and lotions can dull the shine, so it’s best to gently wipe your jewelry with a soft cloth before storing it.
To protect your jewelry’s plating, remember to remove it before activities like washing dishes, exercising, cleaning, or swimming in chlorinated or salt water. Avoid acidic cleaners, vinegar, or ammonia, which can harm the jewelry’s finish. Alcohol wipes can be used sparingly to sanitize the backs of earrings, but always ensure your jewelry is completely dry before putting it away.

Remove Your Jewelry When Not in Use
Put on your jewelry last, after applying hairspray, makeup, and lotions, to avoid contact with these products. Also, make jewelry the first thing you remove when changing out of your clothes or getting ready for bed, as it may get damaged if slept in.
Store Your Jewelry Carefully
Proper storage can make all the difference. Store each piece individually in cotton, velvet, or plastic pouches to avoid scratching or damage. While jewelry boxes are helpful, individual pouches provide extra protection. For necklaces, hang them on hooks to prevent tangling and keep them separate from other jewelry to avoid dulling and damage.

Avoid Coating
Your Jewelry
Refrain from using any protective coatings or finishes, as these can alter or damage the original finish of your jewelry.
